the class
The Youth Entrepreneurs Kansas (YEK) class is anything but typical. It
is a privately funded high school class, and students who enroll in YEK
receive credit just as they would for math or English. But unlike
traditional courses, YEK offers many unique opportunities: |

includes tools for learning |

Continued opportunities for success through Alumni programs,
including scholarships, business partnerships and a micro-loan program –Student/Alumni |

Students participate in many experiential learning activities, such as the Wholesale Field Trip, where students see the workings and relationships between manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Students bid for venture capital from YEK and purchase items at wholesale. |

Hands-on experience with retail selling through Market Days, in
which students sell the items they purchased on the Wholesale Field
Trips to their fellow students, keeping any profit earned after repaying
their seed money |

Creation of a business plan, which is then used to compete on
local and regional levels for Venture Capital awards, which can be used
to start their business or for higher education –Venture Capital and Dreams to Dividends |
